A classic theme in fantasy games, this cemetery terrain has gained some inspiration from Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn and Montmartre cemetery in Paris. These terrains have often seen use in rpg's, and they really bring atmosphere.

Materials used

Plaster cast in mold (statue, tombstones, wall on the background)

Cardboard (Crypt walls and roof, bases, thinner obelisk parts)

Findings from a buttons store (small crypt roofs)

Wood (both balsa and harder ones): Stairs, thicker parts of statue bases and obelisks. Smaller crypt spikes are cocktail sticks.

Flock: Grass

Toystore findings: Cat-beast statue

Wire: trees

Filler powder/pva glue mixture: ground fillings (over styrofoam or corrugated cardboard), trees.

Future plans for cemetery terrain

Some day I hope to build some larger and more impressive crypts. If you're looking for inspiration for ancient graveyards, you should check Montmartre cemetery I mentioned above. It really is my favourite, it's full of crypts one more impressive than the other! I wasn't that much excited about the more popular Pere Lachaise Cemetery. I'll be posting some photos of the cemetery later, so you can use them as inspiration.
