How easy can a modelling project be? Death Star must be the easiest one I've done. Cutting the place for the super laser was perhaps the hardest part, after that I applied dyed filler-paste to the model, carved the center line and painted it. Not the most accurate model but works.
One of the earliest terrain items I've created, after dungeon walls and some woods and rocks is winter terrain. Having often seen use, this terrain can be used in almost any genre and world; Marines invading arctic base of an evil mastermind, friends of Drizzt adventuring in Icewind Dale, An icy planet to be explored...
It's been quiet on this site for quite a while; life with a kid is something that can take a lot of energy and time, especially if you want to play, meet friends and do other things too. But while I haven't posted for a while, there's been silent development inside my head, I've been thinking about various game elements, bottlenecks, what's really necessary for the game and what seems just to be encumbering it and many other details. I've got a huge amount of notes, and I've now started to go through them and implement the ideas to the rules, and to take unnecessary elements away from the game - at least for now.
I started collecting DDM just for my roleplaying needs, and after the 1+6 boxes I was hooked - if you've collected anything you know how it goes. Anyway, as many DDM collectors know, there has always been some holes in DDM collection, even if many of them got filled close to the end of the line. To fill these holes, you need to find alternative sources. Horror clix, Heroclix,Star Wars miniatures, Mage Knight and Heroscape are main sources for miniatures I've found.
Another crazy project of mine. Some days I think I have time for everything, and I try to do everything... I was preparing ground combat rules for very small scale Star Wars miniatures, but I never got them finished. I've got a bunch of scratchbuilt or modified small miniatures though, and now that I've found Savage Worlds and it's mass combat rules, I can create battles using miniatures as counters! If you're a Savage Worlds fan, you might want to read my post about starship battles.
I've been drawing Pulut -sarjakuva (Pigeons -comics) for a Finnish young's community site, and like I've often drawn these pigeons to guestbooks and in greetings, I decided to create a decoration for our wedding cake of these comic characters. The same theme was seen in wedding invitation, where one pigeon 'accidentally' prod a ring closer to another pigeon - and the wedding cake decoration was made from this picture.
After the last job, PC's had been getting some cyber and healing. Before they could leave for well-deserved vacation, Ivan got two calls. First, Ivan's police contact called and told Ivan that Italian mafia has put a price on his head (and hindrance was updated to major) - in the last session, the Italians closed with no guns when Ivan & Emanuele turned the confrontation lethal.
If you've been reading my posts, you know I've become a huge fan of Gramel and it's Beasts & Barbarians products. When Golden Edition came out, I run to buy the pdf(link is external) right away. This new 210-paged document gives you mainly two new things: New images (which I like a lot, even if I had a small hope of having color graphics instead B&W), adventure generator, npc collection and a bunch of new monsters.
Tracon went by some time ago, and I've been horribly busy - so sorry about having no updates for a while.
GRAmel, which has recently become my favorite publisher, released a free Halloween -themed adventure for Beasts & Barbarians. The whole Beasts & Barbarians -series is most fascinating and this adventure is no disappointment. I read the adventure through and it's one of my two options to run next sunday, even if I usually dislike ready adventures. My other option would be continuing my Savage Cyberworld -campaign, which is starting to get pretty halloweenish.
Three versions of this desert -warrior (Links: Galeshi Dervish one(link is external), two(link is external) and three(link is external)). The Galeshi stalker(link is external) (Out of stock ATM) and LOTR -mini Haradrim warrior - unfortunately I can't tell where you can find the latter. http://www.iconusa.com/online/Collectables.htm(link is external) might be worth checking out, or ebay. Upcoming Wizkids LOTR miniatures line might also include Haradrim -minis. I've removed shield & pistol from the dervishes and added the dagger.
Anyone can get a great miniature collections very cheaply, thanks to collectible miniatures vith very rare miniatures and stores selling singles. For as low as $25, you can get a basic set of 50 miniatures that has a lot of those extras your player characters are going to meet a lot, plus a lot of different characters for pc's or villains. I've chosen to use Troll & Toad as I've made a lot of purchases with them I'm happy with, and they have a great collection (including Mage Knight) and good photos of everything. You might get some minis cheaper elsewhere but mailing costs might be a bit higher - but I can only tell about international shipping.
